A new
Web site is providing information for women and men on the
multiple health and lifestyle implications of menopause.
developed by Prime Plus, a national menopause education organization,
targets the years before, during and after a woman's change
of life. New information about the short-term and long-term
consequences of menopause, hysterectomies and surgical menopause,
and treatment options to alleviate the physical and emotional
effects of menopause is offered on the site.
"With
all of the confusion out there about menopause, we need to
help women significantly improve their health outcomes as
they approach menopause and beyond," said Karen Giblin,
founder of Prime Plus/Red Hot Mamas Menopause Management Education
Programs. "Our new Web site, http://www.redhotmamas.org,
will close the knowledge gap and provide the essential information
women need to obtain these goals."
Sections
included on the Web site include an interactive feature called
The Visible Woman that offers comprehensive information about
the effects of estrogen loss on a woman's body after menopause,
a clinical trials update, a health resources links, a suggested
reading list, and a periodic newsletter called The Menopause
Minute.
