A patent
for a new female incontinence control device has been issued
to Medical Technology and Innovations, Inc.
The Steridyne
IVD is a device that promises relief to patients suffering
from female urinary stress incontinence, a condition affecting
more than 12 million women in the United States.
"The
Urinary Incontinence Device developed by Medical Technology
and Innovations shows tremendous promise as a solution for
women with incontinence," said Dr. Felecia Froe, Director,
UroCare for Women, LLC in Kansas City, Missouri and conductor
of the medical trials of the Steridyne IVD. "The device
will be a much needed solution for women everywhere who suffer
from this problem."
The Steridyne
IVD will offer a control device that is simple, hygienic and
non-surgical solution to the problem of female incontinence,
according to Larry James, Senior Vice President of Research
and Development of MTI.
MTI plans
a worldwide launch of the Steridyne IVD later in 2002.
